Waiting For Mr. Wright is an easy read and takes you on a journey of relationships from a male perspective. A woman's naive desire to rid herself of pain through an impulsive act lose her virginity at 32 and fix all her problems, which of course turns out to be disastrous. The twists and turns will keep you turning through pages.
I never give five stars to any books, but being that some one gave it one star, I thought I would. Cause I thought that this book was Awesome. It was thought provoking and wonderful. I couldn't put it down. It was a fun read that keeps you on your toes the whole time. I also think, Christopher J. Moore is a refreshing new voice in literature that should be recognized as a new force in the world of fiction. I LOVED this book. I also LOVED his first book God's Child. PS. I do think the person who gave it one star is a moron. LOL. Great book, you won't be able to put it down.
This book was an amazing read. I think the book tells you a lot about life's hard choices. Also, I think the way the author tells the story really makes it easy to read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book it kept me captivated to where I didn't want to put it down. I think Mr. Moore did a great job on his Sophomore novel. I think as he continues with his writing it will become even more detailed and intense. With the story line for Waiting for Mr. Right I think he did a wonderful job at underlining the struggles Dolores goes through as a successful business woman trying to save her virginity for marriage, as she was brought up to do. Do I think there could have been more detail, yes there is always room for more but I was very satisfied with what the Author gave me. And I am looking into buying his first novel God's Child also. Hopefully he will have more to come.
I agree with L. Rice that the author rushes through the story. The chapters are ended abruptly, description is all over the place. There is no continuity between the chapters. I had a difficult time trying to follow the flashbacks and keeping up with whose point of view was being told. I think the author has potential, but he needs to improve and refine his fiction writing skills. The misspellings were killing me (necked instead of naked; distain instead of disdain).
I am an avid reader of African American romantic fiction so I know a good story when I read the first few pages. I would suggest that Mr. Moore read other African American authors such as Eric Jerome Dickey, Carl Webber, Omar Tyree and E. Lynn Harris to get an idea of how a good novel is written.
I received this through a Goodreads/Firstreads giveaway and am so sorry I waited to long to find it in the pile and read it because I really liked it. Although the story was a bit choppy in places, I found Waiting For Mr. Right to be a very enjoyable read with a wonderful message, one you don't find too often in today's society. It is okay to 'wait for Mr. Right' by respecting yourself and not 'giving it up' to every Tom, Dick, Harry or Brad. Keep looking because Mr. Right might just be Mr. Right Under Your Nose.
I really enjoyed Waiting For Mr. Right. I loaned it to my friend on the condition that she return it to me soon. She didn't, so I bought another copy. I wanted her to be able to finish and I wanted to finish reading the ending also. The ending was very appropriate. It ending as though Mr.Moore carefully thought out the ending, instead of ending like he just good tired of writing and stopped. Looking forward to reading God's Child, another of his novels. I might even buy a second copy and share with a friend.
